After 17 minutes, Teobaldo Aragones mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciudadela FC and the Club Atlético Xeneize players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Ciudadela FC got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Aragones. In the 23rd minute Victor Paskal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Liberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Victor Paskal came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Club Atlético Xeneize fans jumped to their feet. In the 61st minute Gonzalo Gonchan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stasio Zachemski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, Club Atlético Xeneize's Hermengildo Liberto made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Higinio Liberto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ciudadela FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Paskal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Higinio Liberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th match minute, Club Atlético Xeneize was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nono Rico to maneuver through the defense. Stasio Zachemski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Gonchan, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Club Atlético Xeneize supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atlético Xeneize would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
