With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadeo Jacob prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcelo Florinio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amador Cordaro in the 19th minute. If Lucio Etxahun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silvestre Salvadore might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeo Jacob. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvestre Salvadore ran back to his position shaking his head. When Lucio Etxahun came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Ave Fenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucio Etxahun couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Etxahun in the 31st minute of play forced Torres AFC's goalkeeper Tadeo Jacob to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcos Gato during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute Lucio Etxahun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Jacob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Garin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Jacob having to interfere. Lucio Etxahun struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Tadeo Jacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ave Fenix. 42 minutes into the match, Ave Fenix's Cipriano Garin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tadeo Jacob narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcos Gato to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Gato in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Florinio saved Ave Fenix from getting behind. 52 minutes into the game, Lucio Etxahun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ave Fenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torres AFC the free kick. After 53 played minutes Ave Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Etxahun. Modesto Weterio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Tadeo Jacob made a huge save. After having played for 60 minutes, Cipriano Garin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ave Fenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Garin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvestre Salvadore struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Tadeo Jacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ave Fenix. Tadeo Jacob came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Ave Fenix's Cipriano Garin. But to his dismay, Cipriano Garin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tadeo Jacob showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Salvadore, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, Ave Fenix's Baldomero Ritchie got a free kick in the 77th minute. If Erasmo Chorache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Lucio Etxahun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cipriano Garin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tadeo Jacob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Salvadore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cipriano Garin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Ave Fenix left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Torres AFC.
