In the 15th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Sawyer to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Colin Sawyer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edelmiro Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Matagusanos AFC's Enzo Tello got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Arturo Polentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Polentzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edelmiro Brun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the game, Gaston Bermudo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matagusanos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick. After 23 played minutes Matagusanos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Bermudo. Manchester City's Arturo Polentzi got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Matagusanos AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Nunez Lluterio hit a great ball. After 28 played minutes Matagusanos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Franco. 29 minutes into the match, Colin Sawyer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edelmiro Brun, 2-0. The supporters of Matagusanos AFC booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Rik didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Ceferino Todor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edelmiro Matei skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Matagusanos AFC's zone, Colin Sawyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edelmiro Brun came out of the goal and Colin Sawyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edelmiro Brun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Colin Sawyer's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Colin Sawyer was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Polentzi in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Brun saved Matagusanos AFC from getting behind. In the 53rdth minute of the game Arturo Polentzi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matagusanos AFC's Edelmiro Brun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Sawyer in the 55th minute of play forced Matagusanos AFC's goalkeeper Edelmiro Brun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Polentzi in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Brun saved Matagusanos AFC from getting behind.
