An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Olayo in the 27th minute of play forced C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Mariano Telesforo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jony Maidana, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Baraquiel to make the kick off. Evelio Gomez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Bemabe having to interfere. When Siro Sesuldo fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's protests and gave Siro Sesuldo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, C.A. INDEPENDIENTE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siro Sesuldo to maneuver through the defense. In the 86thth minute of the game Armando Baraquiel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's Mariano Telesforo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
