Arnulfo Txurio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th match minute, Merecíamos el Empate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Egoitz to maneuver through the defense. When Eustacio Rameriz came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Atlanta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eustacio Rameriz couldn't finish the play. Merecíamos el Empate's Tomás Blasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustacio Rameriz in the 16th minute of play. After some careless play in the Merecíamos el Empate defense, Eustacio Rameriz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Blasco. The Merecíamos el Empate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Blasco should have stopped the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Merecíamos el Empate's Dalmacio Mikolas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardino Elorri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardino Elorri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelino Lopez in the 30th minute. Eustacio Rameriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Blasco having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Merecíamos el Empate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Egoitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Dalmacio Mikolas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Eustacio Rameriz sped through Merecíamos el Empate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomás Blasco. Atlanta FC's Rich Osborn got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnulfo Txurio kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Atlanta FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roque Mancio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Arnulfo Txurio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eustacio Rameriz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomás Blasco having to make a save. Astor Quinten charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Astor Quinten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Astor Quinten kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Atlanta FC's Astor Quinten quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jeremias Chap, made in the 64th minute of the game. Tomás Blasco was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Eustacio Rameriz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eustacio Rameriz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Atlanta FC's Eustacio Rameriz got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Atlanta FC's Marcos Hats was substituted for Michal Laskovič. If Arnulfo Txurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Eustacio Rameriz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Blasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 80th minute Eustacio Rameriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Blasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Blasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustacio Rameriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Tomás Blasco came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Atlanta FC's Arnulfo Txurio. But to his dismay, Arnulfo Txurio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Arnulfo Txurio took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomás Blasco. Tomás Blasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Arnulfo Txurio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Blasco having to interfere.
