Edgard Marko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Inautzi in the 41st minute of play forced Nueva Atlántis FC's goalkeeper Cayetano Gasteiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Sergio Menendo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

After some careless play in the Tunas defense, Eustaquio Ricart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Marko. The Tunas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Marko should have stopped the shot. Edgard Marko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Linares in the 84th minute of play. Eustaquio Ricart's late challenge caught a Tunas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Ricart helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Nueva Atlántis FC got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Ricart. Edgard Marko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stuart Lees, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, one of Nueva Atlántis FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nueva Atlántis FC. The goalkeeper, Cayetano Gasteiz, was totally fooled by Tunas's Serafino Cordarryl, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 100 minutes into the match, Serafino Cordarryl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cayetano Gasteiz. Nueva Atlántis FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serafino Cordarryl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Nueva Atlántis FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
