After 10 minutes, Alfonso Mejias made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. BS AS's Braulio Santana tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ezequiel Fidencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeronimo Irrintzi's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Mikael Wiman did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Braulio Santana 15 minutes into the match. Braulio Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Mejias, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When Mikael Wiman got free in front of the goal in the 20th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Braulio Santana was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. It was beautiful to see River Plate's Alfonso Mejias in action when he in the 45th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.
