Maximino Santxol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 15thth minute of the game Paolo Segio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Mercedes's Andries Van Mechelen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute, Nestor Ariando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nestor Ariando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Francescoli F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Otsoa came free, but Maximino Santxol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Mercedes's Celedonio Dalmu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Andries Van Mechelen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Behe in the 38th minute. Genaro Lugo took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximino Santxol. Maximino Santxol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Genaro Lugo was the one to do the kick off. Club Mercedes were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Francescoli F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Genaro Lugo took the corner. The corner ended in Genaro Lugo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Francescoli F.C.'s Maximino Santxol did a great save. Norberto Otsoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Santxol having to interfere. If Norberto Otsoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Francescoli F.C.'s Maximino Santxol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Lugo in the 58th minute of play. Nestor Ariando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Maximino Santxol managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Club Mercedes's Genaro Lugo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Club Mercedes's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Guillelmo in the 74th minute of play. Andries Van Mechelen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Ariando, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Silvano Santo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Silvano Santo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andries Van Mechelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andries Van Mechelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Ariando in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Mercedes eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
