Eliseo Rius hit a great ball. In the 10th minute Nemesio Steven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andries Van Mechelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andries Van Mechelen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blas Estevez's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Andries Van Mechelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Micael in the 23rd minute of play. Club Mercedes's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Estevez in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute Jonatan Ourente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andries Van Mechelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andries Van Mechelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Rius in the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Club Mercedes's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Micael came free, but Andries Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Mercedes's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Ourente in the 36th minute of play. When Francisco Jayvier fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Flemon's protests and gave Francisco Jayvier a yellow card for diving instead. Francisco Jayvier hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute of the match Genaro Lugo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pascual Teyo skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonatan Ourente in the 40th minute of play forced Club Mercedes's goalkeeper Andries Van Mechelen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Mercedes's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Estevez in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the El Flemon defense, Genaro Lugo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pascual Teyo. The El Flemon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pascual Teyo should have stopped the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Genaro Lugo made the kick off in the second half. Andries Van Mechelen was a little too slow when Blas Estevez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-2. Andries Van Mechelen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Steven, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the game, El Flemon's Rogelio Micael nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andries Van Mechelen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 70th minute Elpidio Estevez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Teyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pascual Teyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Lugo in the 72nd minute of play. Andries Van Mechelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nemesio Steven in the 73rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El Flemon's Diego Juvenal got a free kick in the 74th minute. Zacarias Lucado hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 78 minutes of play El Flemon's Zacarias Lucado was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 78th minute, Zacarias Lucado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 minutes, Jonatan Ourente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Flemon and the Club Mercedes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Flemon! Pascual Teyo had in the 81stth minute some difficulties stopping Genaro Lugo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Rogelio Micael came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Andries Van Mechelen could save by the left post. Andries Van Mechelen made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Blas Estevez sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Blas Estevez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andries Van Mechelen was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 95th minute, El Flemon's Blas Estevez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andries Van Mechelen. Andries Van Mechelen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. The El Flemon supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Flemon would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
