When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baldomero Guib made a kick off. Karl-Michael Öman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baldomero Guib in the 51st minute. The referee ignored River plate's protests and gave Herminio Koldo a yellow card for diving instead.
