Victorio Gaitano took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aytaç Bartu. Aytaç Bartu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Aytaç Bartu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorio Gaitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Aytaç Bartu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generoso Isadore in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to River plate getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Lembitu Villem hit a great ball. Aquiles Cordairo made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Baldomero Guib sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Heriberto in the 27th minute of play forced Chatanooga F.C.'s goalkeeper Aquiles Cordairo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomero Guib who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Aquiles Cordairo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Florentino Rameriz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 30 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when River plate's Benedicto Heriberto fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Aytaç Bartu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Harkaitz in the 32nd minute of play. Eusebio Veto lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chatanooga F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! 1-2 came through a penalty shot after 40 played minutes, when River plate:s Oscar Oliveiro calmly waited for Chatanooga F.C.:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomero Guib to make the kick off. Aytaç Bartu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Harkaitz in the 53rd minute of play. After 55 minutes River plate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ignacio Madeo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Chatanooga F.C.'s corner Joaquin Eudoxio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aytaç Bartu quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Chatanooga F.C. booed when River plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Guib didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Silverio Harkaitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chatanooga F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Harkaitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aytaç Bartu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Nevada's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Silverio Harkaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Aytaç Bartu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silverio Harkaitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aytaç Bartu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silverio Harkaitz ran back to his position shaking his head. 90 minutes into the match, River plate's goalkeeper Aytaç Bartu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silverio Harkaitz. After a rather tough play, River plate's Benedicto Heriberto got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Chatanooga F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evelio Luke to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Florentino Rameriz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Chatanooga F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than River plate throughout the match.
