An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorio Matxin in the 4th minute of play forced Picapiedras FC's goalkeeper Juan Ibañez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elvio Hodei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Noremberg went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilio Bide during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Los Piojos getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Emilio Bide hit a great ball. Picapiedras FC's Hugo Noremberg got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elvio Hodei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Noremberg in the 23rd minute of the match. Hugo Noremberg struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Elvio Hodei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Picapiedras FC. In the 26th minute, Bala Cañon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Picapiedras FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When Bala Cañon got free in front of the goal in the 31st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Elvio Hodei was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 36th minute Placido Silvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Ibañez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Noremberg in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Hodei saved Los Piojos from getting behind. Elvio Hodei came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Picapiedras FC's Hugo Noremberg. But to his dismay, Hugo Noremberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hugo Noremberg to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Noremberg in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Hodei saved Los Piojos from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Noremberg in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elvio Hodei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bala Cañon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Elvio Hodei skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Juan Ibañez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Normando in the 64th minute of play. Los Piojos's Elvio Hodei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Los Piojos from getting a goal against them. Bala Cañon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Elvio Hodei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bala Cañon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvio Hodei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Noremberg in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Gualterio Bordat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Hugo Noremberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Norembergs short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Elvio Hodei to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hugo Noremberg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Elvio Hodei skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 89th minute of the match Picapiedras FC got a corner. Los Piojos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hugo Noremberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Russ Barton to score against Elvio Hodei in Los Piojos's goal. 0-5 after 89 minutes. After a defensive mix-up in Los Piojos's zone, Bala Cañon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Hodei came out of the goal and Bala Cañon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 96 played minutes Los Piojos got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Veto. Picapiedras FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
