After a defensive mix-up in Niupi F.C.'s zone, Gavino Gomez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Segundo Ranolfo came out of the goal and Gavino Gomez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gaston Ourente fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Niupi F.C.'s protests and gave Gaston Ourente a yellow card for diving instead. Gaston Ourente hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Gavino Gomez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomero Raitin to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Baldomero Raitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niupi F.C.'s Segundo Ranolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Niupi F.C. from getting a goal against them.
