With an extended leg and a bit of luck Onur Recep prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rigoberto Nazario made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Richard Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. Ánimas's Onur Recep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Aires in the 34th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Braulio Perrando during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Ánimas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Perrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rigoberto Nazario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Perrando in the 38th minute of the match. Onur Recep didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven de Zwaan went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Onur Recep was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

54 minutes into the match, Ánimas's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Aires came free, but Onur Recep reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Braulio Perrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ánimas's Onur Recep proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Ánimas from getting a goal against them. Rigoberto Nazario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godofredo Bikendi in the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Ánimas's goalkeeper Onur Recep had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven de Zwaan. Anselmo Gotzon took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rigoberto Nazario. Rigoberto Nazario dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. In the 72nd minute, Domingos Aires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rigoberto Nazario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Perrando in the 76th minute of play. Onur Recep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Aires in the 77th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingos Aires in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Onur Recep saved Ánimas from getting behind. In the 82nd minute of the match Argentinos Juniors got a corner. Ánimas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leon Richie ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 86th minute Richard Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Nazario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Ánimas's goalkeeper Onur Recep had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Mero. Braulio Perrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Nazario having to interfere. In the 95th minute Braulio Perrando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Nazario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
