With his leg Onur Recep managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Rafaela Fútbol Club's Roque Fernanco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Onur Recep made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Arkadiusz Gerlach sent off a good shot on target. Adam Dagenais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Alcântara in the 23rd minute of the match. Onur Recep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higinio Osoitz in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Cyril Hintze was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ánimas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rafaela Fútbol Club the free kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Higinio Osoitz to make the kick off. Braulio Perrando scored 0-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adam Dagenais, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 60th minute of the match Ánimas got a corner. Rafaela Fútbol Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Braulio Perrando ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ánimas's corner Braulio Perrando fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adam Dagenais quite easily take care of the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Braulio Perrando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Adam Dagenais was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute Rafaela Fútbol Club were awarded a corner. Felipe Perschl went to the cornerflag to take it. Ánimas were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Rafaela Fútbol Club's much stronger midfield.
