With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingos Aires in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severiano Quinteros saved Los Diablos Piquenses from getting behind. Severiano Quinteros came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos Juniors's Sven de Zwaan. But to his dismay, Sven de Zwaan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 10th minute Domingos Aires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Quinteros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Mero in the 12th minute of play forced Los Diablos Piquenses's goalkeeper Severiano Quinteros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute of the match, Sven de Zwaan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Severiano Quinteros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Argentinos Juniors's Petruț Fințescu got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Sven de Zwaan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severiano Quinteros was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Severiano Quinteros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sven de Zwaan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Severiano Quinteros made a huge save. In the 35th minute, Argentinos Juniors's Sven de Zwaan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Gervasio Rioja charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervasio Rioja the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Severiano Quinteros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven de Zwaan in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Argentinos Juniors getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Leon Richie hit a great ball. Rigoberto Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovando Castan, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 47 played minutes Argentinos Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Mats Falch. Gervasio Rioja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Rigoberto Nazario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Severiano Quinteros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Los Diablos Piquenses getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gervasio Rioja hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's Domingos Aires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severiano Quinteros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Los Diablos Piquenses's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Aires came free, but Severiano Quinteros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severiano Quinteros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Aires in the 64th minute of the match. Severiano Quinteros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petruț Fințescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The Los Diablos Piquenses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severiano Quinteros should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Aires in the 73rd minute of play forced Los Diablos Piquenses's goalkeeper Severiano Quinteros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Diablos Piquenses's Severiano Quinteros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Elequemedo in the 75th minute of play. Severiano Quinteros came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos Juniors's Sven de Zwaan. But to his dismay, Sven de Zwaan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. In the 97th minute Sven de Zwaan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Quinteros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Argentinos Juniors's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
