Newcastle United ARG were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after C.A Costa Azul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jean Paul Håland took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Jean Paul Håland got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maximo Lauro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Belmiro Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximo Lauro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Paul Håland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in C.A Costa Azul's zone, Jean Paul Håland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Lauro came out of the goal and Jean Paul Håland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Arturo Louis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcelito Barovero. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, C.A Costa Azul's Tomás Sá nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelito Barovero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After having played for 38 minutes, David Trezeguet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A Costa Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Trezeguet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes in the game Christian Steven did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Åge Gjerstad. Maximo Lauro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Paul Håland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jean Paul Håland in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maximo Lauro saved C.A Costa Azul from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Trezeguet was the one to do the kick off. Björn-Torben Von Bischhoffshausen hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Marcelito Barovero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Louis in the 57th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Trezeguet in the 60th minute of play forced Newcastle United ARG's goalkeeper Marcelito Barovero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Arósio in the 66th minute of play forced C.A Costa Azul's goalkeeper Maximo Lauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 minutes, Christian Steven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United ARG and the C.A Costa Azul players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Newcastle United ARG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Steven to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Newcastle United ARG getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Christian Steven hit a great ball. Marcelito Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Trezeguet in the 75th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, David Trezeguet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelito Barovero. Newcastle United ARG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Trezeguet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Maximo Lauro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean Paul Håland in the 79th minute. Newcastle United ARG were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after C.A Costa Azul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jean Paul Håland took the corner. Nildo Félix was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 82 played minutes C.A Costa Azul got a freekick which was hit by José Luis Spinetta. Newcastle United ARG's Jean Paul Håland shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maximo Lauro but with some difficulty. A hard shot 86 in the game by Jean Paul Håland from a close distance when the talented Maximo Lauro managed to make a qualified save. C.A Costa Azul's players were relieved. The supporters of Newcastle United ARG booed when C.A Costa Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximo Lauro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Arósio in the 89th minute of the match. Tomás Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Marcelito Barovero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of C.A Costa Azul booed when Newcastle United ARG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Eli didn't get a good kick on the ball. C.A Costa Azul were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Newcastle United ARG for a fine match.
