The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of ESTUDIO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Columbus Crew:s goal. Ariel Muc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Amato having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Ariel Muc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Lorenzo Gomez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Javier Caradaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, ESTUDIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cecilio Gonzales to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Fidel Bide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Javier Caradaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 26th minute, Fidel Bide left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Columbus Crew fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Fidel Bide struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Javier Caradaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Columbus Crew. In the 42nd minute, Fidel Bide got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Javier Caradaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Bide, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 played minutes Columbus Crew got a freekick which was hit by Martin Franco.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ariel Muc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the ESTUDIO defense, Fidel Bide kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Javier Caradaro. The ESTUDIO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Javier Caradaro should have stopped the shot. After 57th play minutes Paulo Cordeal shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Lisandro Amato and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 63rd match minute, ESTUDIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cecilio Gonzales to maneuver through the defense. Columbus Crew made a substitution. Bernardino Min replaced Fidel Bide. Columbus Crew's attentive Martin Franco managed to snatch the ball when Vinicio Eriz made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. Lorenzo Gomez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Caradaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIO's Cecilio Gonzales got a free kick in the 70th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Bernardino Min had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Javier Caradaro. ESTUDIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardino Min was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. 87 minutes into the game, Cecilio Gonzales was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ESTUDIO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Columbus Crew the free kick. In the 87th minute, Cecilio Gonzales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardino Min scored 6-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Javier Caradaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardino Min fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Caradaro having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Columbus Crew fully deserved thier win.
