Apolo Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Iraunkor in the 17th minute of play. With an all-out effort, La Banda de Zeque's Apolo Batista threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Agustin Iraunkor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Apolo Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Ihintza in the 20th minute of play. Mono Naranja's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Ishmael was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. German Ishmael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, La Banda de Zeque's Alberto Jayvier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apolo Batista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Mono Naranja's goalkeeper Apolo Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Jayvier. In the 47th minute, La Banda de Zeque's Aldo Ihintza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Apolo Batista. Apolo Batista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Agustin Iraunkor fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Banda de Zeque's protests and gave Agustin Iraunkor a yellow card for diving instead. Saverio Etxeberri took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Apolo Batista. Mono Naranja's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
