When Romulo Truylos came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Calchaqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Truylos couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute of the match, Teofilo Ciceron tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Severo Maura saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lamalapri FC's Severo Maura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Truylos in the 90th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Calchaqui got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Tono. A hard shot by Pascual Silban from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Basilio Tano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teofilo Ciceron in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severo Maura saved Lamalapri FC from getting behind. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
