When Tadeo Clodio came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Mate y Asado FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Clodio couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Mate y Asado FC's Tadeo Clodio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agustin Alvarez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Angel Gutierrez hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Luciano Guifre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the game, Tadeo Clodio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Agustin Alvarez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, Phillipo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Canor came free, but Agustin Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustin Alvarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Clodio, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Mate y Asado FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeo Clodio got free with Agustin Alvarez in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Phillipo FC defense, Mauricio Canor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agustin Alvarez. The Phillipo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agustin Alvarez should have stopped the shot. If Tadeo Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Victor Blai ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denis Loranca was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After having played for 70 minutes, Luciano Guifre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phillipo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Guifre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mate y Asado FC's Denis Loranca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Gaueko in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Gaueko in the 80th minute of play forced Mate y Asado FC's goalkeeper Denis Loranca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Osoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustin Alvarez having to interfere.
