The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 2 minutes, Francisco Jerrald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Troncos for ever FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Jerrald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Jerrald in the 3rd minute of play forced Tocota AFC's goalkeeper Jesus Toro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 5th minute of the game was made by Absolon Temple with Johannes Strömberg as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Strömberg in the 6th minute of play forced Troncos for ever FC's goalkeeper Joaquin Isaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Absolon Temple hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jesus Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Jerrald in the 8th minute of the match. The supporters of Troncos for ever FC booed when Tocota AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Pitin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Francisco Jerrald had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesus Toro. Tocota AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Jerrald was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Godfredo Santxol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Toro having to interfere. Jesus Toro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Jerrald, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Deckbergh to make the kick off.
