Serafino Demesio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olívio Oliveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The Bermejo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Higuerita FC were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erubiel Acosta to make the kick off. In the 88th minute, Florentino Mikeldi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Higuerita FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-10. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Cornelio Matai took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Aaron Lapurdi to make any attempt to save it. Higuerita FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
