Teodoro Vizcarra ran back to his position shaking his head. Okhoropir Sulaberidze hit a great ball. Ismael Medero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celedonio Chico in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Chico in the 42nd minute of play forced Universidad Emilhense's goalkeeper Ismael Medero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Universidad Emilhense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Okhoropir Sulaberidze to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodoro Vizcarra got free with Erubiel Celipe in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diego Rius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Ismael Medero made a huge save. 75 minutes into the match, Celedonio Chico notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Universidad Emilhense's Ismael Medero. The audience was convinced that Celedonio Chico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismael Medero was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. If Aleksandr Chernavin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Jonathan Frantzes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universidad Emilhense the free kick. 97 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksandr Chernavin came free, but Erubiel Celipe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
