The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Universidad Emilhense defense, Tobias Romelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Medero. The Universidad Emilhense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Medero should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Romelio in the 11th minute of play forced Universidad Emilhense's goalkeeper Ismael Medero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Universidad Emilhense's Ismael Medero got control of the ball when Hans Boruphave tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute Manuel Lekubegi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Medero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Limarna AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Boruphave to maneuver through the defense. Universidad Emilhense's Ismael Medero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Lekubegi in the 28th minute of play. Teodoro Vizcarra took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alejandro Perez. Alejandro Perez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 36 minutes into the match, Universidad Emilhense's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Lekubegi came free, but Ismael Medero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Vizcarra in the 38th minute of play forced Limarna AFC's goalkeeper Alejandro Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Aleksandr Chernavin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Alejandro Perez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aleksandr Chernavin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hans Boruphave fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Medero having to interfere. In the 54th minute Manuel Lekubegi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Medero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tobias Romelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ismael Medero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Lekubegi, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Manuel Lekubegi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limarna AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Lekubegi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With 69 minutes on the clock, Eustaquio Nicholas commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Limarna AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! Alejandro Perez had in the 70thth minute some difficulties stopping Okhoropir Sulaberidze's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Alejandro Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksandr Chernavin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Tobias Romelio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ismael Medero was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 83 minutes into the match, Limarna AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksandr Chernavin came free, but Alejandro Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 86 played minutes Universidad Emilhense got a freekick which was hit by Aleksandr Chernavin. In the 88th play minute Teodoro Vizcarra came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alejandro Perez. 3-3. Ismael Medero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Boruphave went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Universidad Emilhense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
