Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) MERLINFC's Silvestre Cidro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Steaua Noes Potable was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Teodor to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th match minute, Steaua Noes Potable was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Txurio to maneuver through the defense. If Ruben Tabb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvestre Cidro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Teofilo Lastras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciro Txanton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Ghinescu in the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd match minute, MERLINFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Cordera to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iordache Ghinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Txanton having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Iordache Ghinescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua Noes Potable's supporters rose to their feet, but Iordache Ghinescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Txanton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iordache Ghinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ciro Txanton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iordache Ghinescu in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Txanton saved MERLINFC from getting behind. Ruben Tabb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teofilo Lastras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernan Cordera in the 45th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iordache Ghinescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Silvestre Cidro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. MERLINFC's Ruben Tabb got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. MERLINFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Iordache Ghinescu scored to the left of an out of position Ciro Txanton, making the score, 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iordache Ghinescu in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciro Txanton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 60 played minutes MERLINFC got a freekick which was hit by Lino Abajas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iordache Ghinescu got free with Ciro Txanton in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Steaua Noes Potable were awarded a corner. Baltasar Emmanuel went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Vladimiro Fernandes advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-2 in the 62nd minute. Silvestre Cidro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Teofilo Lastras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teofilo Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Cidro in the 75th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in MERLINFC's zone, Iordache Ghinescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Txanton came out of the goal and Iordache Ghinescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iordache Ghinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ciro Txanton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iordache Ghinescu in the 90th minute of play forced MERLINFC's goalkeeper Ciro Txanton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvestre Cidro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Steaua Noes Potable played a much better game than MERLINFC and deserved their victory. The MERLINFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
