The Cuervo Loco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rigoberto Argoitz should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute Laureano Teyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Argoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to New Pi getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Shaun Keyes hit a great ball. Zé Paulo Mendes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Andréas Lindqvist. Rigoberto Argoitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laureano Teyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, New Pi's goal looked a bit too open when Saul Pujol came free, but Zé Paulo Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, New Pi's Zé Paulo Mendes got control of the ball when Pastor Abechuco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romulo Mitxel's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zé Paulo Mendes firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 29th minute, Nemesio Matai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Abechuco got free with Zé Paulo Mendes in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Cuervo Loco's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Oakley came free, but Rigoberto Argoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Mitxel in the 45th minute of play forced New Pi's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Saul Pujol was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Gastón Turuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 minutes of play, Cuervo Loco's Romulo Mitxel made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Paulo Mendes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saul Pujol scored 2-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Paulo Mendes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Paulo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Mitxel in the 77th minute of the match. Zé Paulo Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Abechuco in the 78th minute of play. Laureano Teyo struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Rigoberto Argoitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Pi. In the 85th minute Laureano Teyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Argoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Pastor Abechuco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Paulo Mendes was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. New Pi's Fabio Frisco managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nemesio Matai in the 89 minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Cuervo Loco's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Oakley came free, but Rigoberto Argoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Abechuco in the 93rd minute of play forced New Pi's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cuervo Loco's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
