After 2 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Baraxil Casillas. 7 minutes into the match, Amado Domenec had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nemesio Abilio. Newell´s's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amado Domenec was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Teodosio Telesforo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anibal Cordoba. Nemesio Abilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Hultman in the 13th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Telesforo got free with Anibal Cordoba in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Baraxil Casillas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anibal Cordoba was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Baraxil Casillas sped through Tiburones's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anibal Cordoba. 25 minutes into the match, Tiburones's goalkeeper Anibal Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodosio Telesforo. Anibal Cordoba was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Teodosio Telesforo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 25 minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Tiburones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Indartsu to maneuver through the defense. Teodosio Telesforo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anibal Cordoba firmly grabbed it by the left post. Newell´s were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Tiburones's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Federico Peio took the corner. Newell´s's Federico Peio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Anibal Cordoba in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Anibal Cordoba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baraxil Casillas in the 39th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Iker Indartsu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiburones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iker Indartsu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Tiburones getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Tommy Freitag hit a great ball. Eddie Hultman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eddie Hultman made a kick off. Tiburones's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Delmiro Mingo in the 52nd minute. The corner led Tiburones's Delmiro Mingo to fire away a dangerous shot which Nemesio Abilio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Anibal Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Telesforo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nemesio Abilio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Domenec in the 62nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Benvido came free, but Nemesio Abilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anibal Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tzvetomir Gruykin, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 73rd minute of the match, Amado Domenec tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nemesio Abilio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodosio Telesforo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anibal Cordoba saved Tiburones from getting behind. Newell´s's Haroldo Banegas was substituted for Bernardo Bastia. After 77 minutes Tiburones's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Federico Peio who took care of the corner kick. In the 79th minute Newell´s were awarded a corner. Federico Peio went to the cornerflag to take it. If Prospero Benvido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Benvido came free, but Nemesio Abilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Newell´s's Rafael Orain got a free kick in the 86th minute. Nemesio Abilio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Delmiro Mingo. In the 91st minute, Eddie Hultman made a precise shot to the right of Nemesio Abilio. Newell´s's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2.
