Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tzvetomir Gruykin started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Bernardo Bastia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Monte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Sidónio Candeias notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of El loco Max FC's Epifanio Monte. Epifanio Monte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the game, Leonides Salvadore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El loco Max FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newell´s the free kick. In the 14th match minute, El loco Max FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Salvadore to maneuver through the defense. Sidónio Candeias scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Epifanio Monte, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Epifanio Monte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tzvetomir Gruykin in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El loco Max FC's Roberto Jurgi got a free kick in the 18th minute. Sidónio Candeias took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Epifanio Monte. Epifanio Monte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tzvetomir Gruykin in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Monte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernardo Bastia took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Epifanio Monte. Epifanio Monte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Epifanio Monte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidónio Candeias in the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidónio Candeias in the 28th minute of play forced El loco Max FC's goalkeeper Epifanio Monte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Tzvetomir Gruykin notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of El loco Max FC's Epifanio Monte. Epifanio Monte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute, Sidónio Candeias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Epifanio Monte was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Epifanio Monte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baraxil Casillas, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Sidónio Candeias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Tzvetomir Gruykin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newell´s fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Bastia in the 44th minute of play forced El loco Max FC's goalkeeper Epifanio Monte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Sidónio Candeias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Epifanio Monte. El loco Max FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sidónio Candeias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. After the first half Newell´s were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Mitxel to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Newell´s's Bernardo Bastia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Epifanio Monte. That made the score 0-10 after 53 minutes of play. Epifanio Monte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidónio Candeias in the 57th minute. Epifanio Monte was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tzvetomir Gruykin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-11 in the 59 minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Sidónio Candeias made a precise shot to the right of Epifanio Monte. El loco Max FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-12. Newell´s's Teodosio Telesforo was substituted for Rogelio Larralde. Newell´s's Haroldo Banegas was substituted for Roberto Barba. Tzvetomir Gruykin didn't have the luck on his side when he, from a short distance, got a opportunity for a shot on goal in the 68th minute. The shot missed the goal on the right side and Tzvetomir Gruykin ran dejectedly back to his position. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Telesforo got free with Epifanio Monte in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute, Newell´s's Tzvetomir Gruykin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Epifanio Monte. Epifanio Monte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. In the 76th play minute Sidónio Candeias came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Epifanio Monte. 0-14. 79 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Bixintxo came free, but Nemesio Abilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Epifanio Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Bastia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Epifanio Monte was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Bernardo Bastia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bernardo Bastia really showed his touch with that goal: 0-15. Epifanio Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tzvetomir Gruykin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 minutes of play, Newell´s's Bernardo Bastia made it 0-16 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Epifanio Monte was left in no man's land by his defense there! Teodosio Telesforo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Tzvetomir Gruykin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Epifanio Monte. The goal made the score 0-17. When the match was over Newell´s could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than El loco Max FC throughout the match.
