Federico Gaxan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th minute Jawad Ashkanani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Gaxan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to San Marcos FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jonas Tono hit a great ball. San Marcos FC's Federico Gaxan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Paskal in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Genoa FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Genoa FC's Leopoldo Paskal suffered a sore knee after 50 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Anastasio Clis fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Marcos FC's protests and gave Anastasio Clis a yellow card for diving instead. Genoa FC's Ruperto Balesio was substituted for Leopoldo Paskal. Genoa FC's Juan Raymundo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Federico Gaxan but with some difficulty. After some careless play in the Genoa FC defense, Amancio Frascuelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orlando Ondino.
