In the 12th minute Marcos Laffitte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Ruisko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Laffitte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Fernando Ruisko made a huge save. A collision led to Ortigol getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Reynaldo Dino hit a great ball. Everardo Quinten kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Jan Knutsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ortigol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Knutsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remigio Uhin took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Feliciano Soin. Feliciano Soin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Ortigol's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Aureo came free, but Feliciano Soin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Ruisko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Knutsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. A collision led to Ortigol getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Marcos Laffitte hit a great ball. Hernán Crespo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Feliciano Soin. Ortigol's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fernando Ruisko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Knutsson in the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernán Crespo in the 47th minute of play forced Ortigol's goalkeeper Feliciano Soin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

57 minutes into the match, Ortigol's goalkeeper Feliciano Soin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Gonzalez. Pedro Gonzalezs short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Feliciano Soin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fernando Ruisko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Laffitte in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernán Crespo in the 66th minute of play forced Ortigol's goalkeeper Feliciano Soin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Remigio Uhin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Knutsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Ruisko having to interfere. Ortigol's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hernán Crespo 77 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Quinten in the 80th minute of play forced El Millo de Haedo's goalkeeper Fernando Ruisko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Jan Knutsson notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of El Millo de Haedo's Fernando Ruisko. Fernando Ruisko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ortigol! Feliciano Soin came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by El Millo de Haedo's Hernán Crespo. But to his dismay, Hernán Crespo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. El Millo de Haedo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
