Anselmo Nevada came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduardo Rodrigues slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rolando Hustaz got free with Anselmo Nevada in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Hustaz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anselmo Nevada firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 16th match minute, La Hormiga Atómica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Efren to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's Eduardo Rodrigues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Anselmo Nevada was a little too slow when Eduardo Rodrigues got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Rolando Hustaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ's Eduardo Rodrigues ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Anselmo Nevada. Anselmo Nevada yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. If Blas Noe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anselmo Nevada didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 40th minute, which inside left pole to 4-0. Anselmo Nevada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Rodrigues in the 46th minute of the match. Marcos Hotz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Rodrigues to make the kick off. Anselmo Nevada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the game, Eduardo Rodrigues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Anselmo Nevada was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute Rolando Hustaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Hormiga Atómica's Anselmo Nevada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Rodrigues in the 64th minute of play. Natalio Goito hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Marcos Hotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Hustaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute Eduardo Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Rolando Hustaz notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of La Hormiga Atómica's Anselmo Nevada. Anselmo Nevada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ made a substitution. Gabriel Batistuta replaced Eduardo Rodrigues.
