Banfield's Andreas Soltveit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Elizardo in the 22nd minute of play. Vladimiro Isaio kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Banfield booed when Akatsuki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Alfonso didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Joel Gunnarsson came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Banfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gunnarsson couldn't finish the play. Cristo Eladio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabricio Amato in the 40th minute of play forced Banfield's goalkeeper Andreas Soltveit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Alfonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. The Banfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Soltveit should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After 52 minutes of play, Akatsuki's Eloy Elizardo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andreas Soltveit was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Cristo Eladio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristo Eladio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Laurentzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andreas Soltveit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Amato, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When Cristo Eladio came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Banfield fans jumped to their feet. Eloy Elizardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Gunnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cristo Eladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Akatsuki were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Banfield side.
