Gonzalo Cordaro started the match with the kick off. Iguarán FC's Gonzalo Cordaro got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Hugo Checa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andreas Soltveit was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Andreas Soltveit was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Hugo Checa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hugo Checa really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Andreas Soltveit didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Checa went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Gonzalo Cordaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iguarán FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzalo Cordaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Soltveit breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Iguarán FC's Dom Rowland got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute Gonzalo Cordaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Soltveit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Gonzalo Cordaro could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Andreas Soltveit however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Checa in the 39th minute of play forced Banfield's goalkeeper Andreas Soltveit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Banfield's Luis Silviano got a free kick in the 39th minute. Joel Gunnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute of the match, Gonzalo Cordaro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andreas Soltveit was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jimeno Monico came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Banfield's Joel Gunnarsson. But to his dismay, Joel Gunnarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Semeno made a kick off. Iguarán FC's Jimeno Monico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Eladio in the 51st minute of play. Andreas Soltveit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Cordaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Andreas Soltveit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guaberto Paez in the 57th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Checa in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Soltveit saved Banfield from getting behind. In the 59th minute, Luis Silviano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Paez came free, but Andreas Soltveit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andreas Soltveit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Cordaro in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute Guaberto Paez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Soltveit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Semeno in the 70th minute of play forced Iguarán FC's goalkeeper Jimeno Monico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Gonzalo Cordaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andreas Soltveit was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-2. Andreas Soltveit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Checa in the 78th minute of play. Arnaldo Tallia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Andreas Soltveit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Julian Florian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banfield and the Iguarán FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Banfield's Julian Florian got a free kick in the 80th minute. A collision led to Banfield getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Isidro Prejun hit a great ball. Andreas Soltveit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Cordaro in the 82nd minute of the match. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Banfield's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arnaldo Tallia was slow to take the kick. During this time Iguarán FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Arnaldo Tallia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andreas Soltveit quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Banfield defense, Gonzalo Cordaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andreas Soltveit. The Banfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andreas Soltveit should have stopped the shot. Andreas Soltveit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Cordaro in the 90th minute of play. Iguarán FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
