But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Admon couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in San Pedro de Colalao's zone, Eusebio Gorri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregor Koning came out of the goal and Eusebio Gorri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 minutes, Eusebio Gorri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iowa FC and the San Pedro de Colalao players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Iowa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusebio Gorri to maneuver through the defense. Carmelo Admon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregor Koning having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Carmelo Admon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iowa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Admon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregor Koning breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 36 played minutes Iowa FC got a freekick which was hit by Romulo Rencio. A hard shot 37 in the game by Mario Quilo from a close distance when the talented Victorio Gaitan managed to make a qualified save. Iowa FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Iowa FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Filiberto Celio hit a great ball. Everardo Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the last second Gregor Koning throw himself and got hold of the ball when Eusebio Gorri in the 53rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Hulberto during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Victorio Gaitan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 68 minutes of play, San Pedro de Colalao's Venancio Nardo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victorio Gaitan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gregor Koning showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Gorri, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Victorio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Villems in the 75th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Everardo Lopez during the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Villems in the 90th minute of play forced Iowa FC's goalkeeper Victorio Gaitan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
