Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernan Henry to make the kick off. After some careless play in the river FC defense, Benedicto Lico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ionel Cândea. The river FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ionel Cândea should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Santamarina's zone, David Vistruario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Mazza came out of the goal and David Vistruario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, river FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carolo Mazuste came free, but Ionel Cândea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionel Cândea made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Domingo Birjaio sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute, river FC's Ellie Tobing seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ellie Tobing the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of river FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ellie Tobing had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 70 played minutes river FC got a freekick which was hit by Ellie Tobing. When Carolo Mazuste came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Santamarina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carolo Mazuste couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Santamarina booed when river FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azeari Monzon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Iyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Mazza having to interfere. Bruno Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Hanot in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Santamarina's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Hanot came free, but Bruno Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, river FC's David Vistruario got a free kick in the 86th minute. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Lisandro Estebe took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Ionel Cândea to make any attempt to save it. 93 minutes into the match, river FC's goalkeeper Ionel Cândea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedicto Lico. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedicto Lico got free with Ionel Cândea in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
