The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of river FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Echegoyen FC:s goal. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Echegoyen FC. Mariano Urbes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ionel Cândea. 1-1. With his leg Ionel Cândea managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Echegoyen FC's Sixto Gilabert fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amado Pere during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, river FC's Amado Pere got a free kick in the 29th minute. Amado Pere kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. river FC's Ionel Cândea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save river FC from getting a goal against them. Jaime Veto charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Milio Ortega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernan Henry to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Gilabert in the 54th minute of play forced river FC's goalkeeper Ionel Cândea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th match minute, river FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Iyan to maneuver through the defense. After 55 played minutes, Echegoyen FC's Erasmo Hanni shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ionel Cândea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. In the 57th minute Alonzo Iturri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Cândea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Echegoyen FC's Milio Ortega got control of the ball when Fernan Henry tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Romeo Bela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. river FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Echegoyen FC the free kick. After 63 minutes of play, Echegoyen FC's Sixto Gilabert made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Milio Ortega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Hanot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Echegoyen FC booed when river FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ellie Tobing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ionel Cândea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Urbes in the 73rd minute of play. Fernan Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milio Ortega having to interfere. river FC's Ionel Cândea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sixto Gilabert in the 84th minute of play. Ionel Cândea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sixto Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fernan Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Amado Pere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ionel Cândea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixto Gilabert in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 played minutes Echegoyen FC got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Urbes. The Echegoyen FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
