With an all-out effort, Villarreal FC's Ciriaco Txordon threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vicente Igon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vladimiro Sedeni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Oso, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Vicente Igon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Ciriaco Txordon made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Igon to strike the kick off in the second half. Lorenzo Florinio struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ciriaco Txordon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villarreal FC. In the 79th minute Nicanor Honesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Txordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Deportes 4 de junio's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Florinio came free, but Ciriaco Txordon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lorenzo Florinio in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciriaco Txordon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute Klaus Johannis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Txordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Villarreal FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
