Hidrocarburo FC's Kauno Pirnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Florinio in the 6th minute of play. Villarreal FC were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Hidrocarburo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vicente Igon took the corner. Villarreal FC's Vicente Igon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kauno Pirnes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Hidrocarburo FC's Amos Fabiani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vladimiro Sedeni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Honesto in the 15th minute of play forced Hidrocarburo FC's goalkeeper Kauno Pirnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Lorenzo Florinio made a precise shot to the right of Kauno Pirnes. Hidrocarburo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Vladimiro Sedeni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicodim Mangra in the 27th minute of the match. Kauno Pirnes came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Villarreal FC's Vicente Igon. But to his dismay, Vicente Igon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Nicodim Mangra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Vladimiro Sedeni made a huge save. The supporters of Hidrocarburo FC booed when Villarreal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nemesio Sol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kauno Pirnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Igon in the 53rd minute of play. Nicodim Mangra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Nemesio Sol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Sedeni was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nemesio Sol in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimiro Sedeni saved Villarreal FC from getting behind. Vladimiro Sedeni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Sol, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 70 played minutes Villarreal FC got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Johannis. Vladimiro Sedeni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Mangra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Nemesio Sol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hidrocarburo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Lorenzo Florinio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Kauno Pirnes made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Villarreal FC's Lorenzo Florinio got a free kick in the 77th minute. The Hidrocarburo FC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Hidrocarburo FC's Nemesio Sol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Villarreal FC's Vicente Igon was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 86th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 89th minute Nicodim Mangra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Sedeni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimiro Sedeni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nemesio Sol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Villarreal FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Villarreal FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
