In the 17th minute Remigio Norino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Oliveira in the 19th minute of play forced UltraMillonarios's goalkeeper Mario Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the UltraMillonarios defense, Benjamin McNeur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Txindoki. The UltraMillonarios fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Txindoki should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Leonel Club de Fútbol's Marcos Cordera got control of the ball when Luciano Luix tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mario Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mario Txindoki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin McNeur in the 32nd minute of play. If Remigio Norino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remigio Norino in the 36th minute of play forced UltraMillonarios's goalkeeper Mario Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franko Baresi during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Leonel Club de Fútbol booed when UltraMillonarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franko Baresi didn't get a good kick on the ball. UltraMillonarios's Mario Txindoki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Rafel in the 41st minute of play. Franko Baresi hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. If Benjamin McNeur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin McNeur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Txindoki having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Everardo Gaizkine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cordera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luciano Luix went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Marcos Cordera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Gaizkine in the 56th minute of play. Everardo Gaizkine took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cordera. Marcos Cordera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. UltraMillonarios's Mario Txindoki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save UltraMillonarios from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute, Fábio Oliveira made a precise shot to the right of Mario Txindoki. UltraMillonarios's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Remigio Norino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 2-5 became the score in the 76th minute when Remigio Norino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 80 played minutes UltraMillonarios got a freekick which was hit by Florentino Piearres. After 81 minutes of play, Leonel Club de Fútbol's Benjamin McNeur made it 2-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mario Txindoki was left in no man's land by his defense there! Remigio Norino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Mario Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Benjamin McNeur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Leonel Club de Fútbol eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
