Ruben Formerio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Marcelino Arano came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Cachilo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelino Arano couldn't finish the play. Ruben Formerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Montel in the 40th minute of the match. Haroldo Mancio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Formerio having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Talleres FC's goalkeeper Ruben Formerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 48 minutes into the game, Cachilo FC's Esteban Montel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruben Formerio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Marcelino Arano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cachilo FC made a substitution. Donato Lizardi replaced Marcelino Arano. Felipe Peli charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Peli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felipe Peli hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Cachilo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartolo Goiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Nuno in the 97th minute of play forced Talleres FC's goalkeeper Ruben Formerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Cachilo FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Talleres FC.
