The audience was convinced that Hugo Duro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herminio Gelmiro was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Duro got free with Herminio Gelmiro in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herminio Gelmiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Duro in the 40th minute of play. Juan Orlanda kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Relmo's Herminio Gelmiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Relmo from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Hugo Duro made the kick off in the second half. Relmo's Herminio Gelmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Duro in the 53rd minute of play. In the 67thth minute of the game Hugo Duro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Relmo's Herminio Gelmiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led Lanus's Cipriano Estebano to fire away a dangerous shot which Herminio Gelmiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Marcelo Hanni fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Relmo's protests and gave Marcelo Hanni a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lanus booed when Relmo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Hanni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ceferino Feliu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Maximo Berto made a huge save. Mateo Demesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Lanus booed when Relmo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Hanni didn't get a good kick on the ball.
