Genaro Confesor didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Yaretayo's goalkeeper Herminio Gergori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chucho Cortez. 10 minutes into the match, Yaretayo's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Ove Rolfsson came free, but Herminio Gergori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Karl-Ove Rolfsson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Yaretayo's Herminio Gergori. Herminio Gergori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Florencio Checa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Del Santo FC's Luciano Eleder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Checa in the 51st minute of play. 51 minutes into the match, Florencio Checa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luciano Eleder. Del Santo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florencio Checa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Del Santo FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
