Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Corsarios del Sur's Ronaldo Riells started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Ronaldo Riells shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Placido Flores could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Walmir Loureiro made a huge save. In the 7th minute, Conrado Xabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Placido Flores in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Walmir Loureiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Riells in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amado Urbez saved Chavarría from getting behind. In the 19th minute, Miguel Larra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walmir Loureiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Walmir Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Hilario Gilesindo sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Corsarios del Sur getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Conrado Xabel hit a great ball. Walmir Loureiro came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Chavarría 's Miguel Larra. But to his dismay, Miguel Larra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 30th minute, Mauro Guerrero reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Walmir Loureiro. The goal made the score 3-0. Walmir Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Eli Laredo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Larra in the 34th minute of play forced Corsarios del Sur's goalkeeper Walmir Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Guerrero had several of the Corsarios del Sur's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Walmir Loureiro as he didn't even see the shot coming. Conrado Xabel charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Xabel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 played minutes Corsarios del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Xabel. 44 minutes into the match, Edgar Davids sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Walmir Loureiro threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Edgar Davids this time. A collision led to Corsarios del Sur getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Teo Luzaide hit a great ball. Miguel Larra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Loureiro having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Larra made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Eli Laredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Amado Urbez managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Corsarios del Sur's Rodrigo Cidro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chavarría 's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgar Davids in the 61st minute. The corner ended in Edgar Davids almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Corsarios del Sur's Walmir Loureiro did a great save. In the 63rd minute Ronaldo Riells shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walmir Loureiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Larra in the 64th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Chavarría 's corner Edgar Davids fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walmir Loureiro quite easily take care of the ball. When Miguel Larra came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Chavarría fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Larra couldn't finish the play. Corsarios del Sur's attentive Teo Luzaide managed to snatch the ball when Kilian Rongier made a throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game. Walmir Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Guerrero in the 74th minute of play. After 74 minutes of play, Chavarría 's Mauro Guerrero made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walmir Loureiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Hilario Gilesindo in the 81st minute of play forced Corsarios del Sur's goalkeeper Walmir Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Rodrigo Cidro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corsarios del Sur's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrigo Cidro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Urbez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chavarría 's goalkeeper Amado Urbez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ronaldo Riells had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Chavarría players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
