The Independiente Avellaneda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Prudencio Duarte should have stopped the shot. Francisco Pitin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Duarte having to interfere. Ubaldo Perico might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Prudencio Duarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ubaldo Perico ran back to his position shaking his head.
