Godofredo Vidal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Modesto Efraim when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Tomas Nuñez put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Herminio Aurre. In the 30th minute, Mussi's Godofredo Vidal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Godofredo Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mussi's supporters rose to their feet, but Godofredo Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Modesto Efraim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 minutes of play Mussi's Tomas Ilazki was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Lafontaine booed when Mussi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Ilazki didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Nel during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Pascual Gonsalvo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Lafontaine's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Vidal came free, but Modesto Efraim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lafontaine's Modesto Efraim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Musko in the 64th minute of play. After 67 minutes, Astor Eguzki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lafontaine and the Mussi players grew even worse after the yellow card. 69 minutes into the game, Godofredo Vidal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Modesto Efraim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Godofredo Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Lafontaine defense, Pascual Gonsalvo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Modesto Efraim. The Lafontaine fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Modesto Efraim should have stopped the shot. Modesto Efraim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Vidal in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Augusto Peru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mussi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lafontaine the free kick. The supporters of Lafontaine booed when Mussi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Peru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lafontaine's Tomas Nuñez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Herminio Aurre but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Bikendi in the 88th minute of play forced Lafontaine's goalkeeper Modesto Efraim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herminio Aurre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Nuñez in the 94th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Mussi were the better team. Mussi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
