The crowd rose to their feet as Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Moises Elodio. That made the score 3-0 after 22 minutes of play. Moises Elodio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Moises Elodio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André-Pierre Gignac in the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Club Deportivo el Invento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximo Min didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo el Invento's goal looked a bit too open when Silverio Tuste came free, but Moises Elodio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Evelio Berasko in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Newells Old Boys's Cristian Calderon. Moises Elodio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Silverio Tuste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But to his dismay, Silverio Tuste quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Ezequiel Chabier charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ezequiel Chabier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo el Invento's Ezequiel Chabier got a free kick in the 89th minute. Silverio Tuste struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Moises Elodio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newells Old Boys. Moises Elodio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Blanco, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
