An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Erasto in the 11th minute of play forced Trilí's goalkeeper Torcato Palha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13thth minute of the game Augusto Sotero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verdugos FC's Moises Ovando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 minutes, Paulino Quilino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trilí and the Verdugos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eusebio Nuxila's late challenge caught a Verdugos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusebio Nuxila helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Trilí getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Eusebio Nuxila hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Alvaro Erasto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Trilí's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
