With an all-out effort, MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's Claudio Berriotxoa threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Evelio Fresco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 10 minutes, Just Fontaine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oran f.c.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Just Fontaine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP booed when Oran f.c. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Gutierrez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's Mario Camerino got a free kick in the 17th minute. Lucien Grondin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Abeijon, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Evelio Fresco took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Claudio Berriotxoa to make any attempt to save it. In the 23rd minute, Siro Lobo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oran f.c. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sebastian Mel's late challenge caught a MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Mel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP booed when Oran f.c. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Mel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Doctor Khumalo could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Claudio Berriotxoa however easily saved by the left post. Mario Camerino got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 36th match minute, MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mercurio Veraza to maneuver through the defense. Just Fontaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Grondin having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doctor Khumalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantino Poz in the 51st minute of play forced MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's goalkeeper Lucien Grondin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 52 minutes MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Just Fontaine who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Just Fontaine in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucien Grondin saved MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP from getting behind. Oran f.c.'s Constantino Poz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lucien Grondin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Just Fontaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Grondin having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Oran f.c.'s Siro Lobo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucien Grondin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Santiago Gaizkine came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santiago Gaizkine couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's Aquiles Argoitz got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute Arnulfo Abeijon managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Lucien Grondin was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Severiano Ekhi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Severiano Ekhi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 81st minute, Siro Lobo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnulfo Abeijon kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Just Fontaine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Lucien Grondin made a huge save. MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's Santiago Gaizkine got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, MARCONI Y PEÑA-MDP's goal looked a bit too open when Severiano Ekhi came free, but Lucien Grondin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Oran f.c. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
