Santos Laurgain really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 18th minute, Baldomiro Mitxel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd match minute, VERΛ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anastasio Erauso to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Laurgain in the 23rd minute of play forced VERΛ's goalkeeper Delmar Bartoleme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes Abasto FC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Mitxel. Delmar Bartoleme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abasto FC. In the 40th minute, the referee gave Abasto FC a penalty. Reynaldo Dodorol looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Delmar Bartoleme. A collision led to VERΛ getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Teobaldo Hegoi hit a great ball. A long shot from Fermin Ramone in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Delmar Bartoleme made a really good save at the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Santos Laurgain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd match minute, Abasto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Milio to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Santos Laurgain had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Delmar Bartoleme. VERΛ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Santos Laurgain was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by VERΛ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fermin Ramone was slow to take the kick. During this time Abasto FC's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Laurgain in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delmar Bartoleme saved VERΛ from getting behind. With a little luck, Abasto FC's Saul Nabar got control of the ball when Lorenzo Louis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aquilino Milio's late challenge caught a VERΛ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aquilino Milio helped the player get up and apologised. After 76 played minutes Abasto FC got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Milio. 77 minutes into the match, VERΛ's Anastasio Erauso broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisito Caradaro got free with Saul Nabar in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 81 minutes, Baldomiro Mitxel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abasto FC and the VERΛ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VERΛ booed when Abasto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Mitxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abasto FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. 95 minutes into the match, VERΛ's goal looked a bit too open when Santos Laurgain came free, but Delmar Bartoleme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Abasto FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while VERΛ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
